Manchester United Trained Coach Joins Sawtell FC

Sawtell Football Club is excited to announce the appointment of Manchester United trained and qualified local Ash Adams as their Reserve Grade Coach for the 2015 Season. Ash has spent the past 12 months with Manchester United obtaining his coaching qualifications through their development programme and he is excited to be back home to assist Sawtell FC this year. Ash returns to Manchester later in the year to continue coaching and further his coaching qualifications.

Sawtell FC believe Ash’s appointment will compliment the strong senior playing group already under the guidance of Premier League coach Rachael Oberleuter.

Along with this announcement comes the news that Ashs‘ Dad, former Premier League Coach and Goalkeeper Steve Adams has returned to the Club and he has been appointed as Goalkeeping Coach. Steve has 49 years football experience and will be mentoring the Seniors, Ladies and Junior Goalkeepers and will be assisting Ash with the Reserve team.

Both Ash and Steve are excited to be a part of the successful footballing culture at Sawtell and both are looking forward to assisting Premier League Coach Rachel Oberleuter to continue that success.

Revised: New AGM Date of 29th October 2014

Unfortunately our AGM could not go ahead on the 15th October due to insufficient numbers in attendance.

The new AGM date has been rescheduled for Wednesday 29th October, 7pm in the boardroom of the Sawtell RSL.

I don’t need to stress how important it is that we get suitable numbers to this AGM. You will not be roped into doing something you don’t want to do by being in attendance, however if you want to have a say in how our club is run, or have the abilitiy to support the club in any way, I would encourage you to be there.

If you have any questions, contact Rod on 0401 197 429.

Expressions of Interest for Coaches and Managers - Season 2015

Sawtell FC are currently seeking and accepting "Expressions of Interest" for Coaches and Managers positions for the 2015 season.

Expressions of interest in Premier League coaching and management positions will need to be submitted by email to by 5pm on Friday 31st October 2014.

We also invite anyone interested in coaching, managing or team leader roles with our Senior, Junior (Competitive) and Junior (Non-Competitive) teams within the club to register their interest via email (and the age group or team they want to be involved in) prior to the 2015 registration so we can review and assess in conjunction with our team registrations and nominations.

Sawtell FC aim to provide its Coaches, Managers and Team Leaders with ongoing support throughout the season from the Club's coaching coordinator and senior coaching staff.

Sawtell FC is a family club, and as such the Committee and Coaching Coordinator will make selections based on the best interests of the club, the teams and its member families. It is important to our club that our juniors in particular get the best level of coaching they possibly can to develop into all round team players with great skills and good team spirit as the grow with the game.

Annual General Meeting - 15th October 2014

Our AGM will be held in the upstairs boardroom of the Sawtell RSL on Wednesday 15th October 2014 at 7pm.

It takes a strong group of volunteers to run this great club of ours, and as the saying goes, "Many hands make light work". So if you can spare some time to assist in helping the club out, come along to the AGM and join the committee to spread that load. Or even just indicate if you are willing to help out in certain areas.

Feel free to contact any of the current committee members to ask about the roles or duties and what may be involved.

We are the biggest club in the zone as far as player numbers go, so we hope to see as many of our members there as we can at the AGM to continue to keep this club strong.
